Constable fired for drug offence falls to death from KL hotel room window

KUALA LUMPUR: A former police constable was found dead after he is believed to have fallen from the seventh floor of a hotel in Jalan Syed Putra here yesterday.

The body of Mohd Naszuani Mohd Redzuan, 32, was discovered by several hotel employees at 5.15am, said Brickfields Police chief ACP Sharul Othman Mansor.

He said Mohd Naszuani had been staying at a room on the seventh floor since Feb 19.

"Police found the window of the room open. We also found drugs believed to be methamphetamine wrapped in plastic in the room," Sharul said when contacted.

He said a check with the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department at Bukit Aman revealed that Mohd Naszuani was dismissed from the police force in June last year due to a drug offence.

Sharul said Mohd Naszuani served with the police force from 2012 and was last attached to the Transport Division of the Bukit Sentosa Police Training Centre in Selangor.

"He was married and had a child... we have contacted the family," he said.

Sharul said Mohd Naszuani's body was sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. He said the case had been classified as sudden death. -- BERNAMA
