KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 33 people, including two secondary school students, were arrested for drug abuse when police busted a private party at a luxury service apartment in Jalan Sultan Ismail here yesterday.
Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Superintendent Mohd Sukri Kaman said police had received a tip-off about the incident and deployed a raiding party about 6pm.
“In the operation, 47 people were checked, with 33 testing positive for drugs. These included two secondary school students aged 14 and 15.
“Police also seized two pills believed to be methamphetamine,” he said.
The organiser of the event, a 22-year-old, was also nabbed.
Sukri however said police believed there were more drugs used in the party but the group had probably destroyed it before policemen entered the unit.
"They took some time before opening the door. They probably spotted the raiding team through the peephole and flushed the drugs down the toilet.”
The case is being investigated under Section 12 (2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
