Cops looking for man who verbally abused and spit at Rapid Penang bus driver

GEORGE TOWN: Police are looking for a man who verbally abused and spit in the face of a Rapid Penang bus driver in Lebuh Cecil here yesterday.

The driver, aged 41, was driving his bus at about 5.10pm when he saw a Proton Savvy car blocking the road.

According to a source, the bus driver stopped the bus and sounded the horn twice before the car driver got out of his vehicle and showed an indecent sign at him.

Later, when the bus driver stopped to let his passengers off, the motorist stopped his car in front of the bus.

“The motorist then got down and went to the bus driver’s window and shouted at him, he asked him to get off the bus,” said the source.

When the bus driver did not alight, the motorist became angry and spit in his face of the victim before getting back into his car and speeding off.

The bus driver then lodged a police report on the incident.

When contacted, Timur Laut District Police Chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid confirmed the incident and said efforts were being made to trace the driver of the car. --BERNAMA
