Coronation Street spoilers follow.
In scenes set to air soon, Joel will invite Dee-Dee out for a drink, using the excuse that he needs to pick her brains about US law. While she's excited to spend time with him, she actually thinks that he wants to talk about law and gets her books out, not realising he just wants to go on a date with her.
Later in the week, he drops the ruse and outright asks her to dinner, and she's super excited. But she's unfortunately busy for the next few nights, and a rejected Joel leaves.
Adam Barlow later finds out about Dee-Dee turning down the offer of a date, and decides to take matters into his own hands and engineers a situation to get the two together.
Speaking about the upcoming storyline, Dee-Dee actress Channique Sterling-Brown teased that we're going to see a different side to the character than we're used to.
"We're going to see her go on a bit of a dating journey. Her life is a mixture of fun but chaos, and I think fans will really enjoy seeing her try to navigate that world.
"When she's in the courtroom, she's totally in control. I think it's going to be really fun to see her struggle to quite work things out, so that's what we've got coming up. She's probably missed all sorts of romantic opportunities because she's had her head either in the clouds or in the courtroom!
"I think it's going to be really exciting to see her work all of that out, have a bit of fun and put herself first."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
