Court sets April 11 for re-mention of Yacoob Nasran murder case


KOTA KINABALU: The Magistrate court here today has set April 11 for re-mention of Yacoob Nasran murder case pending a chemist report.

Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus fixed the date and said that the next hearing for the case would be held at 10am.

Pub bouncer Mohd Azmin Lidin, who was charged with the murder on Dec 23, appeared calm during the entire process.

The accused and Yaacob's families observed the hearing from the public gallery.

His lawyer, Datuk Seri K. Rakhbir Singh, was not present while prosecuting officer Inspector James Paran prosecuted.

The 28-year-old pub bouncer was accused of killing 18-year-old college student Yaacob outside the Mee Siam Thai Bar between 3.30am and 4.30am on Dec 15.

It was reported that Yaacob, along with his brother and six other friends, were attacked by a group of men armed with swords.

The boy was slashed to death while protecting a friend during the commotion.
