COVID-19: 60-year-old man is Singapore's 16th coronavirus-related fatality

SINGAPORE — A 60-year-old Singaporean man has died from COVID-19 complications, bringing the death toll here from the coronavirus to 16.

The man, identified as case 2,728, died on Friday (1 May), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its daily update of coronavirus cases in Singapore. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 13 April, and had a history of hypertension and high level of cholesterol in the blood.

The National Centre for Infectious Diseases has reached out to his family and is extending assistance to them.

The MOH reported 932 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore on the same day, bringing the total to 17,101.
