UPDATE: SG Hotels PTE Ltd. and Murray PTE Ltd will be operating both hotels from 1 June 2020. All hosts at Six Senses Maxwell and Six Senses Duxton are under contract with the owning company.

Six Senses Hotels & Resorts and the hotel owners of Six Senses Duxton and Six Senses Maxwell in Singapore, will no longer manage the properties effective from 31 May 2020.

The two hotels which opened months apart in 2018, were the company’s first city hotels. The other Six Senses properties that are located in over 21 countries operate as resorts and spas.

The Six Senses Duxton in Tanjong Pagar was designed by British interior designer Anoushka Hempel, while the Six Senses Maxwell was designed by French architect and designer Jacques Garcia.

Six Senses Maxwell was voted one of the best new hotels in the world on Condé Nast Traveller’s 2019 Hot List, while Six Senses Duxton made it to the 14th annual It List, a selection of the best new hotels by Travel + Leisure, US, in the same year.

Both Six Senses Duxton and Maxwell featured fine-dining restaurant Yellow Pot, Six Senses Brasserie which served Modern European cuisine and Cook & Tras Social Library, an all-day dining restaurant.

A quick check shows both hotel properties have been removed from the official website and social media.

With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing closures and delays across the globe, the launch of Six Senses New York is also reportedly delayed.

The Six Senses group is hoping to continue its expansion plans with new properties in countries like India, Spain, Israel, Switzerland and Austria in the future.
