SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed two new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of noon on Wednesday (2 December), taking the country’s total to 58,230.

Both new cases today are asymptomatic. There are no new cases of locally-transmitted infection.

The number of new cases in the community totalled five cases – all currently unlinked – in the past week.

Two more places were added to the list of public places recently visited by COVID-19 cases while infectious: Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim at 30 Telok Blangah Road on 19 November (8pm to 8.45pm) and Masjid Ahmad at 2 Lorong Sarhad on 20 November (12.40pm to 1.30pm)

Amongst the two imported cases, one is a Singapore permanent resident who returned from India. The remaining case is a work permit holder currently employed in Singapore who arrived from Indonesia. They had already been placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN.

99% of total cases have recovered; none in ICU

With five more patients discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities on Wednesday, 58,144 cases – or 99.9 per cent of the total – have fully recovered from the infection.

Most of the 28 hospitalised cases are stable or improving, and none are in the intensive care unit.

A total of 29 patients – with mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive – are isolated and cared for at community facilities.

Apart from 29 patients who have died from COVID-19 complications, 15 others who tested positive for the virus were determined to have died from unrelated causes, including three whose deaths were attributed to a heart attack and another four, whose deaths were attributed to coronary heart disease.
