COVID-19: Singapore confirms 2 new cases, both imported and asymptomatic
SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed the detection of two new COVID-19 cases in Singapore on Sunday (8 November), taking the country’s total to 58,056.
Both are imported cases, marking the third consecutive day with no reported local transmissions.
“Both new cases today are asymptomatic, and were detected from our proactive screening and surveillance,” said the MOH.
One is a work permit holder currently employed here who arrived from Indonesia, while the other is a dependant’s pass holder who arrived from the United Arab Emirates. Both had been placed on stay-home notice upon their arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving it.
The MOH also noted that the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of one case in the past week – who is currently unlinked.
