COVID: 2,304 new cases, 14 more deaths in Singapore
SINGAPORE —The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Saturday (13 November) confirmed 2,304 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore – bringing the country's total case count to 235,480 – as well as 14 deaths due to the disease.
The ratio of community cases for the past week over the week before – or the weekly infection growth rate – is 0.98.
It was the 55th day in a row with fatalities from COVID-19 reported in Singapore, with 160 people having succumbed to it so far this month.
The 563rd to 576th fatalities here were aged between 61 and 94. All of them, except for a partially vaccinated case, had various underlying medical conditions.
Of the new cases, 2,179 are in the community, 120 are in the migrant worker dormitories and five are imported. Amongst the community cases are 388 seniors who are aged 60 years and above.
MOH is monitoring six larger clusters with new cases. These include Banyan Home @ Pelangi Village with five new cases and 102 in total, Jenaris Home @ Pelangi Village with three new cases and 37 in total, and the Institute of Mental Health with two new cases and 422 in total.
A total of 1,574 cases remain warded in hospital. As of Saturday, 253 cases require oxygen supplementation in the general ward, while 123 are the intensive care unit (ICU) comprising 51 who are unstable and under close monitoring, and 72 who are are critically ill and intubated. The current overall ICU utilisation rate is 66.3 per cent.
Over the past day, 2,539 cases were discharged, of whom 389 are seniors aged 60 years and above.
Over the last 28 days, of the 90,186 infected individuals, 98.7 per cent of local infected cases had no or mild symptoms, 0.8 per cent required oxygen supplementation in the general ward, 0.3 per cent were in the ICU, and 0.2 per cent has died.
Over the past seven days, the number of fully vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated cases who are critically ill in the ICU are at 0.5 and 5.4 per 100,000 population respectively. Over the same period, the number of fully vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated cases who died are 0.1 and 0.9 per 100,000 population respectively.
Among seniors aged 60 and above, the number of fully vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated cases who are critically ill in the ICU are 1.9 and 47.6 respectively. The number of fully vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated seniors who died are 0.4 and 9.0 respectively.
As of Friday, 85 per cent of the population has completed their full regimen or received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, 86 per cent has received at least one dose, and 20 per cent has received their booster shots.
