COVID: 4 more KTV lounges in Singapore to be closed for 2 weeks
SINGAPORE — Four more KTV establishments operating as food and beverage outlets will be closed for about two weeks amid more COVID-19 cases in a growing cluster linked to such places and social hostesses.
The places are One Exclusive (114 Middle Road), Level 9 (L9) (114 Middle Road), Terminal 10 (Clarke Quay), and Club M (114 Middle Road), the Ministry of Health said in its daily COVID-19 report on Wednesday (14 July). They will be closed from Thursday to 29 July to enable deep cleaning and break any potential chain of transmission.
Free COVID-19 testing will be offered to members of the public who were at these premises, or at similar KTV lounges or clubs operating as F&B outlets, or interacted with social hostesses of any nationality in any setting between 29 June and 14 July.
They should refer to https://go.gov.sg/ktv-testing for details on the testing operations.
“All visitors to these premises and similar settings and those who had interacted with social hostesses of any nationality are advised to monitor their health closely, and minimise social interactions as far as possible, for 14 days from their date of visit or interaction. They are encouraged to see a doctor immediately if they feel unwell,” MOH said.
The announcement comes a day after three such KTV establishments were closed from Tuesday (13 July) to 27 July due to ongoing COVID-19 transmission linked to the premises.
MOH said on Wednesday there are 60 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore, taking the country's total case count to 62,804. Of them, 56 are local cases in the community, including 42 – out of 51 linked infections – who belong to a fast-growing KTV lounges/clubs cluster. The cluster is now linked to 54 cases.
