Cowboys hopeful WR CeeDee Lamb can play vs. Raiders after head injury

Unless there’s a setback over the next 24 hours, the Dallas Cowboys believe that wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will be available for their Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Lamb is listed as questionable after he suffered a head injury in their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

"He hasn't missed a step on a short week," Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday, via ESPN. "Just as we discussed on Monday, if he's able to keep progressing through, we see him as available for the game."

Lamb left Dallas’ 19-9 loss to the Chiefs after the back of his head slammed into the ground hard while he and Chiefs cornerback Charvarius Ward were going up for a pass right before halftime. Ward intercepted the ball, and Lamb slowly walked off into the locker room.

The Cowboys quickly ruled him out.

Lamb made it through concussion protocol on Monday and took part in team meetings, and quarterback Dak Prescott said he seemed like his normal self in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday.

"He was great today," Prescott said, via ESPN. "Did everything, got a little session in with him [Tuesday]. I think that was like his check off for the most part and we did some double moves, things like that to make sure obviously just the balance and turning the head and he didn't feel anything from it, so I don't think we have any limitations going into the game with him."

Lamb has recorded 740 yards and six touchdowns, both team highs, so far this season on 50 receptions. His return would help the Cowboys’ offense significantly on Thursday, as fellow receiver Amari Cooper is still sidelined on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
