There may not be any science behind it, but ice cream just tastes better when it’s in cake form and layered with crunchies. Now you can have an ice cream cake that’s also an activity, thanks to a collaboration between Friendly’s and Crayola. Both brands are encouraging you to “decorate your own ice cream cake” at your next party.

This ice cream cake was first released in April 2015, so we’ve all been sleeping on it long enough. It’s made up of vanilla and chocolate ice cream that is layered with chocolatey crunchies and icing. Then, it’s up to you do decorate it! Consider the cake the canvas, which you decorate with blue icing, red icing, rainbow confetti, green sprinkles, and yellow sprinkles. Everything is edible, so you can enjoy your creation after you go crazy!

The 60-ounce ice cream cake serves 12 to 15 people, so it’s perfect for a birthday party or a kid’s sleepover where you need to keep them entertained for a while.

Although the Friendly’s Crayola ice cream cake is labeled as limited-edition, it looks like it hasn’t gone anywhere in the past few years, so you can make it part of your birthday party traditions. It’s available at Target for $17.99, as well as at Friendly’s restaurants, Meijer, and other retailers.

We’d be lying if we said we didn’t wish we had this DIY cake when we were kids, but who’s to say we can’t celebrate our 30th, 40th, or 100thbirthdays having some decorating fun?! Just make sure you take a lot of pictures when you do, because something tells us this ice cream cake won’t last for long.
