Cristiano Ronaldo tests positive for coronavirus
Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for coronavirus, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has announced.
The 35-year-old has consequently withdrawn from the squad to face Sweden in the Nations League on Wednesday.
The Juventus forward produced a positive Covid-19 test while on international duty and while the FPF confirmed he is asymptomatic, Ronaldo is now self-isolating.
Ronaldo uploaded an image to his official Twitter account on Monday which showed him at a meal with his international team-mates.
However, the rest of the Portugal squad have all tested negative for the virus after undergoing tests on Tuesday.
A statement from the FPF read: "Cristiano Ronaldo was released from the work of the National Team after a positive test for Covid-19, so he will not face Sweden.
"The Portuguese international is doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation.
"Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in Cidade do Futebol."
