Cyclone Harold Damages Homes in Vanuatu's Santo

Cyclone Harold caused damage across the island nation of Vanuatu on April 6. The cyclone hit as a category 5 storm, after days earlier hitting the Solomon Islands where 27 ferry passengers were swept away.

This video shows storm winds battering Santo, Vanuatu, and a man with the charity ADRA Vanuatu calling for prayers for residents. He said 200 people sought shelter at an evacuation center.

He said: “People here in Santo need your prayers. Their houses are flattened.

“We’ve got rivers that have been rising up and we’ve got the kitchens, they have been blown out and some houses that are not cyclone proof have been blown out.” Credit: ADRA Vanuatu via Storyful
