Dagenham stabbing: Man charged with three counts of attempted murder

A man will appear in court charged with attempted murder after three people were stabbed in Dagenham, east London, on Friday.

A woman in her 30s and two children were both found with stab wounds at a house on First Avenue, the Metropolitan Police said.

Kulvinder Ram, 48 of First Avenue, was arrested at the scene and will appear at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on Monday.

All parties involved were known to each other, police said.

The woman, and the children - an eight-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy - were all taken to hospital for treatment.

None of their conditions are said to be life-threatening.

Speaking shortly after the stabbings, Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford, responsible for policing in Barking and Dagenham, said it was a "truly shocking" incident.
