Dairy Queen’s Cotton Candy-Dipped Cone Is Officially on the Menu
UPDATED: Feb. 27, 2020 at 11:50 a.m.
Once upon a time, nearly five months ago, we discovered that some Dairy Queen locations were selling a Cotton Candy Dipped Cone. Naturally, we were super jealous that it wasn’t a widespread treat. But our dreams have officially come true, because the carnival-worthy treat is on the menu!
The bright blue frozen treat consists of the classic Dairy Queen vanilla soft-serve that is dipped in sweet cotton candy coating. It hardens to create a dome that encases the ice cream. According to menu, you can order the cone in small, medium, or large (but we all know the correct size to order). It’s not labeled as a limited time item, so here’s to hoping it’s here to stay!

A handful of people have been sharing pictures of the new offering on Instagram over the past couple of days. Based off of the locations, it appears that it’s rolling out across the country. The early reviews are saying that it’s delicious, and we wouldn’t expect anything else from Dairy Queen!
The Cotton Candy Dipped Cone is in good company with other cotton candy-flavored treats, like Cap’n Crunch Cotton Candy Crunch cereal, Herr’s Crunchy and Sweet Cotton Candy Balls, and, the expected-to-be-released Kit Kat Cotton Candy flavor. Cotton candy-flavored snacks, please feel free to stay.

Dairy Queen doesn’t mess around when it comes to its dipped ice cream cones. Right before this past summer, people lost it over the Dreamsicle-Dipped Cone, and then the ice cream got a fall makeover with the Butterscotch-Dipped Cone. Now we’re gearing up to try the new Cotton Candy-Dipped Cone.
You can get regular vanilla soft-serve or Chocolate Dipped Cone at Dairy Queen year-round. The “dipped” part refers to a liquid coating that the ice cream gets dipped into and then it hardens as it dries. So it’s fair to assume that the Cotton Candy Dipped Cone follows the same process, but the result is cotton candy-flavored with a sweet taste. Plus, that pretty blue is reason enough for us to order it ourselves!
The very few pictures of the blue cone on Instagram are from Canada-based accounts. Best Products reached out to Dairy Queen to ask about the Cotton Candy Dipped Cone, and were told that “we do not have any additional information at this time.” But we’re still holding onto hope!
