Dancing on Ice has confirmed Jason Donovan as the fifth celebrity to sign up for the 2021 series.

Jason's name was revealed on today's (September 24) This Morning, following the news earlier this morning that Faye Brookes had also joined.

Speaking about why he decided to sign up, Jason explained: "I've always been a big fan of winter sports, whether its skiing, skating, snowboarding, aprés skiing.

"I felt this has been a very unusual time, and I think with a show like this you really have to dedicate and work hard at it."

"Theatre unfortunately is not seeing a lot of audiences and there's a lot of people out of work for that, film is not really happening, but television – particularly your side of television – is what people go to. I felt, why not?" he continued.

Jason also revealed that his daughter Molly is "very excited" about him skating, and joked to presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that it was an "opportunity to spend the Sunday night with you guys".

Faye's name was announced on Lorraine earlier today, the Coronation Street star saying: "This is the first time I think people are just going to see me, not being a character… Just being me – Faye."

She also admitted how hard it had been to keep the secret from co-stars and Dancing on Ice alums Jane Danson and Brooke Vincent.

"It's the biggest secret I've kept in my life! I saw Brooke yesterday and I was desperate to tell her, but I thought, 'One more day and I'll be able to," Faye said. "She'll be my first text message after I've finished this interview."

The pair join the previously-announced Denise van Outen, Joe-Warren Plant and Myleene Klass on the 2021 line-up.

Dancing on Ice is expected to return to ITV in 2021.
