Dancing TikTok paramedics warned to ‘act professionally’ by bosses following angry backlash
A pair of paramedics who filmed themselves dancing for a TikTok video have been given a warning by bosses following complaints.
In the video, that has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, Rhianna Higgins, 25, and her colleague are seen dancing to a remix of Justin Bieber's ‘Baby’ while wearing full uniform.
But while the video has its fans, some commenters said the pair “should be saving lives” rather than making TikTok videos.
Following a backlash over the video, which was captioned ‘little boogie on break’, Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS), who the pair work for, said workers should be “acting professionally”.

A spokesperson said “We are aware of the video which was filmed during a rest break and we are taking the opportunity to remind colleagues about acting professionally at all times when representing the Trust.
"We remain very proud of the amazing job our staff do to care for patients, often in challenging circumstances.”

One TikTok user who was unhappy with the clip commented: “This is why ambulances take so long to respond.”
Another added: "Wow how do you find time with everyone dying from the world’s most deadly disease running rampant?”
After one user said they were sending a complaint to the NHS, Higgins responded: "If you're not keen just keep scrolling."
Other videos on TikTok featuring Higgins also show her dancing in YAS buildings in uniform, while one shows a dance in front of a parked ambulance that has its lights flashing.
However, not all comments were negative, with one person posting: "Great video, clearly states they was on a break! Probs trying to relax after saving a life!"
Another added: “They're on a break, can't fault them.”
YAS responds to some 700,000 emergency calls every year and transports around one million patients.
