Dave Grohl's daughters delete Instagram accounts after he admits to fathering secret baby outside marriage
Dave Grohl’s eldest daughters deleted their Instagram accounts after he admitted cheating on their mother and fathering a baby girl “outside of my marriage”.
The Foo Fighters frontman, 55, made the admission on his own social media account, saying: “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
Grohl, who first shot to fame as the drummer in Nirvana, married Jordyn Blum in 2003 and the couple have three daughters - Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.
Violet and Harper removed their social media accounts as their father used his to tell fans: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
Grohl was previously married to photographer Jennifer Youngblood from 1994 until 1997.
He played drums in the pioneering grunge band Nirvana from 1990 until 1994 when lead singer Kurt Cobain committed suicide aged 27.
He went on to form Foo Fighters as a guitarist and singer and has scored a number of chart-topping albums including their most recent effort, 2023’s But Here We Are.
In 2022, Violet shared the stage with her father’s band when she gave an emotional rendition of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah to open a special tribute concert to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins in Los Angeles.
Hawkins, 50, was found dead in his hotel room in Colombia in March of that year.
Violet also appeared at a Wembley Stadium tribute gig in a line-up including Liam Gallagher, Queen guitarist Brian May and Nile Rodgers as well as a host of drummers including Queen’s Roger Taylor, Blink-182’s Travis Barker, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and The Pretenders’ Martin Chambers.
