David Tao: I did meet up with Tiffany Yang

8 Jul - In a surprising turn of events, Taiwanese singer-songwriter David Tao has admitted to cheating on wife Penny Jiang, Tencent Entertainment reported.

In a press conference held yesterday to respond to ex-girlfriend Tiffany Yang's accusations of infidelity, David confessed that he did occasionally text the artiste manager and had also met up with Tiffany once after his marriage.

"The only time we have ever met was on 19 June this year in Chengdu," said David, who revealed that they have known each other since 2010 and that he was dating Tiffany before marrying Penny.

"For this, I want to ask forgiveness from Penny, my father-in-law, mother-in-law, and my mother. I have let you down. But thank you for not leaving me and for continuing to love me," he said.

When asked about his relationship with the 23-year-old and the fact that she would be under-aged during that time, the singer replied, "It's not exactly in early 2010. I don't jot down the date of our meeting. For her actual age, I am not sure."

As for one of his messages to Tiffany saying that he married Penny to please his mother, David's manager replied on his behalf that it was just a frivolous answer.

David's lawyer accused Tiffany of falsifying their conversations, and has therefore caused a defamation of his character. However, they added that the compensation is not the main objective of the lawsuit, but for Tiffany to make a public apology instead.
