Lost? Drunk? Rebelling against the tyranny of designated roads? Whatever it was, a car seen cruising down a sidewalk in Yishun has left more than a few Singaporeans wondering what exactly was in the driver’s mind.
The car is already on the sidewalk and driving next to a sheltered walkway at the start of the brief clip posted yesterday. As it meanders toward a pedestrian bridge, viewers are left to puzzle over how it ended up there in the first place, and where the driver intended to go.
“Has this driver gone mad? … Where is this person going?” a voice can be heard in the background of the video, which looks like it was filmed from a nearby bus stop.
The clip ends with the vehicle turning left in the direction of a park, and even driving onto a grass patch while it was at it.
The incident happened across from the Yishun Sports Hall, a man known as Sardi Stoned wrote in a caption to the video, which has been shared 2,500 times and watched more than 62,000 times.
Singaporeans can’t seem to stop laughing while watching the clip, with many tear-squirting face emojis filling the comments.
User Hassan Kaswan even quipped that the driver had probably played Grand Theft Auto — where players are encouraged to drive recklessly — a bit too much.
