CAMERON HIGHLANDS: Police have completed about 80 per cent of their investigation into an accident at the Golden Hill night market here, which claimed two lives.

Cameron Highlands district police chief DSP Hasadid A. Hamid said the police would submit the investigation paper to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office soon.

"The 29-year-old van driver, who was detained on Sunday, will be released on police bail once the remand order expires tomorrow (Thursday)," he said in a statement today.

A three-year-old girl, who was with her family browsing toys, was killed in the 9.45pm incident when the van ploughed into several stalls which were crowded with customers.

A woman, 52, who suffered head injuries in the incident, died yesterday morning while another victim, a 22-year-old, sustained a broken leg and was discharged from hospital.
