Dejdamrong Scores TKO Win Over Banma Duoji At ONE: BATTLEGROUND III

·2-min read

Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke may have been nearly double the age of his opponent on Friday night, but he packed double the power.

The 42-year-old scored a TKO finish on debuting knockout artist “The Prince” Banma Duoji in their co-main event strawweight clash at ONE: BATTLEGROUND III on Friday, 27 August, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The 24-year-old Banma had plans to use the former ONE Strawweight World Champion as a springboard up the rankings, and his record hinted that the feat would be a possibility.

“The Prince” stepped into the Circle with a 100 percent finishing rate and 12 knockout wins to his name. However, Dejdamrong proved he wasn’t going to launch anyone’s career in ONE Championship.

He used his infamous step-in knee attacks in the second round to soften up the Chinese athlete before upping his output with elbows.

It was all too much for Banma to handle, and he succumbed to the pressure at the 3:31 mark of the second round after getting starched with knees and a final punch.

In the main event, seven-time Kickboxing World Champion Sitthichai “Killer Kid” Sitsongpeenong returned to Muay Thai action after seven years and put on a telling performance against #4-ranked bantamweight Tawanchai P.K.Saenchai Muaythaigym.

Tawanchai moved up in weight to battle his compatriot after losing his original opponent due to COVID-19 precautions. And although he displayed the tactical skills he’s known for, it wasn’t enough to overcome the slightly more aggressive Sitthichai.

The Sitsongpeenong athlete used his kicks and punches to earn the split-decision victory, putting him in the crosshairs of ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy.
