A train delay hit the North-South Line after a train fault at Toa Payoh on Tuesday morning (14 November).

According to media reports, announcements were made in stations, but SMRT did not announce the delays on social media.

One commuter said at 7:32 am that the estimated delay after Yishun towards Marina South Pier was 15 to 20 minutes.

Another commuter said at 7:54am that commuters should expect a delay of more than 10 minutes travelling time due to congestion.

The rail operator has drawn ire from commuters for frequent disruptions during rush hour while not updating its social media accounts with information on the delays.

Yahoo News Singapore has reached out to SMRT for comment about the Tuesday morning delay.

Last Friday (10 November), services were halted between Bugis and Tanah Merah train stations after SMRT experienced two train faults on the East-West Line (EWL).
