Delays as A-road closed after serious crash

A major A-road has been closed in both directions following a serious crash.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to the A370 in Hewish, near Weston-super-Mare, at about 22:20 BST on Tuesday.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area between the M5 junction 21 roundabout and Congresbury while investigation work is carried out at the scene.

National Highways said it had been informed by police of a “serious collision" near Puxton Park and warned motorists to expect delays.
