Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich are going their separate ways.

After a whirlwind romance, the couple decided to split two months after they got engaged, according to People.

"It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers," a source told People. "They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together."

The couple, who recently celebrated their sixth month anniversary, got engaged back in July.

"I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage," Demi wrote on Instagram.

Max and Demi have yet to publicly talk about the split and it's still unknown when they decided to call it quits. Demi last posted a photo with Max back in August, according to her Instagram account.

News about a possible breakup recently swirled after presumed Twitter screenshots took made rounds on the site along with the hashtag #MaxEhrichisOverParty. A lot of the screenshots included Max talking about wanting to date several celebrities including fellow Disney starlets Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. However, Demi came to his defense in an Instagram story.

"It's really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other," Demi wrote. "If women have conflict that's between them NOT YOU."
