Denise Welch has hit out at Charlene White for her "friendship" with Matt Hancock on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.

Welch, who is a panellist on Loose Women with White, expressed her disappointment over her behaviour towards the former health secretary.

Welch was sent a meme of a hysterical woman with caption 'Denise Welch seeing Charlene and Matt being besties' to which the former Waterloo Road star replied: "brilliant and true" while also posting a number of angry face emojis.

Welch was also asked by a follower: "But will you tell her exactly what you think when she's out & back on LW?" to which she replied: "What do you think?"

The Loose Women panelist was also critical of the entertainment factor on this year's I'm a Celebrity, writing: "The Hancock show is incredible boring television regardless of your feelings for him!"

White was initially one of the campmates most critical of Hancock, asking him straight why he chose to appear on the reality show.

Hancock and White later had to work together to help get the suspended Tory MP elected as leader of the camp.

After they were victorious, White asked him: “Does this win feel sweet, especially after you lost to Boris? Do you feel like you have been vindicated?”

Hancock answered: “This more than makes up for it."

White later said: “I’m super, super proud of Matt for winning one leadership contest.”

Hancock's appearance on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here has proven to be very controversial with him even being criticised by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Sunak said: "I think politics is a noble profession, at its best – it can and should be – but it’s incumbent on politicians to earn people’s respect and trust.

"They do that by working hard for their constituents, as the vast majority of MPs do – that is why I was very disappointed with Matt’s decision."
