Desperate flood-stricken residents in Valencia town claim French rescuers first to help

Residents desperate for help in a flood-stricken town of Valencia claim the first help they receive is from French rescue volunteers.

French relief group Humanitaires du GSCF has shared footage of rescuers arriving in the Spanish town Alfafar on 1 November.

One rescuer asks a resident: “You’re saying we’re the first relief people here? Nobody has come before us?”

“No, nobody has come to help us, not even the Spanish police.”, the resident says.

The worker then reassures the resident, saying: “We have resources for you, we’ll get the authorisation and distribue it to everyone.”
