Dev Patel compares cast of The Personal History of David Copperfield to The Avengers
Hollywood star Dev Patel has made the ultimate movie squad comparison when describing the cast of his new movie, The Personal History of David Copperfield.
An adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic, the upcoming film features Patel as the title star, alongside an all-star cast including Hugh Laurie, Peter Capaldi, Gwendoline Christie and Tilda Swinton.
The actor has compared working with such big names, and their serious acting skills, to working with a team of superheroes, or Avengers.

"I really think that we've just assembled our Avengers of British acting," he told Digital Spy. "They're just so funny."
He spoke about what how amazing it was to watch "comedic great" Hugh Laurie bouncing off Swinton while filming.
"It's like Armando [Ianucci, the movie's director] has taken the stiffness of what you think is a period film and given it a buoyancy and a vibrancy and a humour that is so cool," he said.

According to Patel, just like our beloved crew of superheroes in the MCU movies, everyone brings something to the table – creating something truly special.
"We had a two-week rehearsal period and everyone came in with their own cadence and comedic timing," he said. "Some of them were physical, some of them were dry, and it just brings this diversity – which is what we see out there in the streets. So alive and real."
The Personal History of David Copperfield is out in cinemas now.
