Diesel is ringing in 2020 with a new unisex smartwatch.
The fashion and lifestyle brand has unveiled the ‘Diesel On Fadelite,' a touchscreen timepiece designed for both men and women, that is currently on show at the CES 2020 tech convention. Powered with Wear OS by Google and the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform, the watch comes in four diverse colorways that ‘fade' into a statement transparent strap, giving the device its moniker.
The lightweight watch features design elements taken from previous Diesel models but adapted to fit a simpler, minimalist aesthetic -- including the Diesel lug design and oversized pusher. It also features a translucent, hard shell nylon casing and a new 'globe' dial comprising a rotating globe that can be manipulated via touch and used to show two additional time zones. Interactive dial animations showcasing real-time weather conditions based on the wearer's location also feature.
The Fadelite also offers a plethora of more traditional smartwatch features, including GPS tracking, activity tracking, customizable watch faces and smartphone notifications. It is scheduled to launch globally in March, retailing at $275.
The launch signals the latest addition to the growing ‘Diesel On' family of touchscreen smartwatches, which the brand first introduced back in 2017.
