Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Aug 19 (ANI): The prices of apples have got reduced drastically leading to a glut in Shimla’s wholesale markets. The market was already affected by the COVID-19. As per the statement of apple growers, the apple prices have gone down significantly. “Prices have been also affected by hail which has damaged the quality of produce leading to fast rejection in the market,” said Shimla Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) Chairman Naresh Sharma. “We've good produce this year but unable to sell it. It was sold at Rs 2400-2900 per 20-kg apple box last year but same product is being sold at Rs 1500-1700 this year,” said an apple grower.
