Disabled Egyptian offers solution to getting around Cairo

This ride-hailing company caters to people with disabilities

Location: Cairo, Egypt

Joe Yaghmour founded 'Rahty' (Arabic for 'my comfort')

after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2006

He used to rely on family and friends to run errands

due to a lack of infrastructure set up to assist people like him in Egypt

Now, Rahty allows people to book a ride whenever they want

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) CO-FOUNDER OF 'RAHTY EGYPT', JOE YAGHMOUR, SAYING:

"We currently have two vehicles and a mini bus that can take up to twenty people in wheelchairs. Our goal and vision is for people with disabilities to live a very normal life, without being a burden onto anyone, but instead become productive and work, maybe even with us in the company. Because nobody knows better than us what services we need."
