There was no breach in security during the incident involving a doll that was found on a ledge along the tracks at Dhoby Ghaut MRT station last month, said Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan in Parliament on Thursday (2 March).

Pictures of the doll made their rounds on social media after Twitter user Ashley Soo posted two photos of it online on 1 February.

In response to a question from Worker’s Party Non-Constituency MP Leon Perera, Khaw said CCTV footage from the day of the incident was reviewed and no breach in security was found.

Khaw added that one theory suggests that the doll was dropped by a commuter and then picked up by a member of staff, who placed in on the ledge.

When Perera asked if there had been other similar incidents and how frequently these occurred, Khaw replied, “Identical incidents, of course this is the first time. But objects being dropped through the platform gap, they are not common but not uncommon either.”
