We don't turn to outsiders for financial help: Pas

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Pas today maintained that the party does not turn to outsiders for financial help.

Pas Syura Council Secretary Nik Muhammad Zawawi said it has never asked for financial help from others, and is not “hungry” for RM90 million, as it was accused of accepting by “an immature politician” recently.

“I am confident that all assets belonging to Pas members (only) are being used, and will be used, to help the party’s cause,” he said.

Nik Muhammad said Pas may not have much in its bank account, but when the party is in need of funds, it asks its members for contributions.

Pas has been accused of accepting allocations from the troubled 1Malaysia Development Bhd fund (1MDB) to the tune of RM90 million.

Nik Muhammad has said the accusation is baseless and “unprofessional”.
