The MRT Downtown Line was disrupted by a signalling fault on Wednesday morning (6 March).

The disruption caused delays along the entire line during the morning peak hours, from as early as 7.45am, all the way from Bukit Panjang to Bedok.

SBS Transit, the line’s operator, put up a post on its Twitter page at about 8.20am, advising commuters to expect additional 10 minutes of travelling time. It added that free bus rides at designated bus stops are available, and apologised for the delay.

About 10 minutes later, it posted another tweet, saying that travelling time from Bugis station to Little India station will be delayed by at least 20 minutes.

Finally, at about 9am, SBS Transit tweeted that train service was back to normal operations. The free bus rides remained available.
