PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad tonight attended the Islamic Affairs Premier Forum at Putra Mosque here in conjunction with the 2018 National Day.
The forum, with the theme of the 2018 National Day celebration, Sayangi Malaysiaku (Love Our Malaysia) as a topic of discussion, featured three leading panellists namely Imam Muda Asyraf, Ustaz Elyas Ismail and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) lecturer Dr Nik Salida Suhaila Nik Saleh.
Ustaz Mohamad Zarifi Mohamad Daud of Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) was the moderator of the forum.
Among others, the forum touched on the importance of a Muslim to have the nature of love and love for the country as well as to work together with the government in developing the country.
Apart from the congregation in the mosque, the event organised by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry with the cooperation of Jakim, was also attended by the Prime Minister's wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusuf Rawa and senior government officials.
