Drake Finally Shows Off His Massive Hermès Birkin Bag Collection And We're In Awe

From ELLE

Drake has unveiled the extensive Hermès Birkin bag collection that he's been curating for several years for the future lucky lady in his life.

In 2017, the singer revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR) that he’s been collecting the expensive bags for ‘the woman I end up with’. Fans of the star – and fashion – have long awaited to see the collection and the father-of-one has finally let us in on a sneak peek of his leather goods.

In a new interview with Architectural Digest, the ‘Nonstop’ crooner shows off his Toronto mansion and his collection of luxurious accessories, laid out as if in a museum.

The Hermès goods are displayed in a two-story wardrobe which, according to AD is ‘adorned with amethyst hardware, rock crystal, and seating upholstered in diamond-tufted shearling with polished nickel studs’.

In one photo shared on the publication’s Twitter page, three bags – a neutral crocodile, golden crocodile, and black and white – sit on top of the cabinet. However, if you take a quick look into the reflection of the mirror behind the bags you’ll see that there are shelves upon shelves of the bags out of shot.

Given that the bags average anything from $40,000 to $500,000, let’s just say Drake probably doesn't have to worry about the water bill every month.

One Twitter user pointed out that the singer owns the Hermès Himalaya Birkin which is widely believed to be the rarest handbag in the world, selling in an auction at a cool $382,000.

Business Insider reports that the white Himalaya features 18-karat white gold hardware and more than 200 diamonds.

The bag is named after actress Jane Birkin and, according to a 2017 study by Baghunter, the value of the design has increased 500 per cent in the last 35 years (an increase of 14 per cent per year) and outperformed the price of gold.

‘It’s overwhelming high luxury,’ Drake said of the feel of his 50,000-square-foot home.

‘That message is delivered through the size of the rooms and the materials and details of the floors and the ceilings.’

In 2017, the singer – whose real name is Aubrey Graham – spoke to THR and while he didn’t divulge much on his love life, he did open up for the first time about collecting the popular bags as a gift for his future partner.

In his bedroom, the singer has hummingbird tapestry bedding by Alexander McQueen, a block marble staircase with chandeliers and a backlit panel of brown agate semi-precious stone in his studio lounge.

Give us a second while we drool over Drake’s home a bit more…
