Along with the rest of the Royal Family, the Duchess of Cambridge has had a very busy few days as the country comes together to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Thursday, the first day of the four-day weekend in honour of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne, saw the senior working members of the Royal Family join Her Majesty on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Trooping the Colour ceremony.

The duchess rewore an Alexander McQueen coat dress for the occasion as she rode in the carriage down the Mall with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Friday saw her publicly reunited with her brother-in-law Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle for the first time in two years, as the Royal Family descended on St Paul’s Cathedral for a Service of Thanksgiving in honour of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

The duchess wore a stunning lemon Emilia Wickstead dress and Philip Treacy hat, whilst Meghan, 40, wore a white Dior haute couture ensemble for the momentous occasion.

Despite only being half way through the four-day planned celebrations in honour of the Queen’s Jubilee, the Duchess of Cambridge found time in her busy schedule to visit one of her patronages on Friday evening.

Kate, 40, made a surprise, and private, visit to Evelina Children’s Hospital in South London on Friday, where she spoke with patients, family members, and members of staff who have been unable to take part in Platinum Jubilee celebrations this weekend.

Evelina Children’s Hospital – which forms part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust – revealed the news on Saturday afternoon.

“We received a very special surprise last night!” wrote the charity on Twitter. “Our Patron, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, dropped in for a private visit to meet our patients, families and staff unable to join in the celebrations this weekend.”

It comes as the Duchess of Cambridge made a visit to Wales on Saturday afternoon with Prince William and her eldest two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also still expected to take part in a number of other public appearances over the Platinum Jubilee weekend.
