For those watching their calorie intake, another version of the treat is available without the filling, reports Bloomberg News.

Both pastries are slathered with chocolate icing and dipped in cookie crumbs, the kind found at the bottom of the jar once you've snarfed that very last whole cookie and are all the more delicious for being all that remains.

Mini doughnuts in the classic flavors of Boston Creme and Chocolate Frosted are being tested in the Pittsburgh area with plans to expand should the project succeed, according to Bloomberg News.

After a successful introduction of a doughtnut-croissant hybrid in 2014, the doughnut giant plans to roll out a filled version of the treat later this year.
