Durant plans to re-sign with Warriors, report

Kevin Durant, who has been named back-to-back MVP of the NBA finals, plans to re-sign with the champion Golden State Warriors, ESPN reported on Saturday. Durant's deal is expected to last two years and pay him around $30 million per season, the American broadcaster said. Earlier this month Durant helped the Warriors defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers to win their second straight title. Durant averaged 26.4 points per game to go along with 6.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists in the regular season. Durant has averaged at least 25 points for the past 10 seasons. Nothing is official but any news of a new deal to keep Durant in Golden State would not come as a surprise, as the free agent was expected to re-sign with the team. Meanwhile, NBA teams will be working with an expected salary cap of $101.8 million for the coming season, with a salary tax level of $123.7 million, the league announced on Saturday. The league released the figures Saturday, hours before the annual moratorium starts and teams can begin negotiating with free agents like Durant.
