MANILA — President Rodrigo Duterte is ready to give P1-million reward to anyone who can report the whereabouts of wanted Abu Sayyaf members in Bohol.

“My order is to the police and the…all…and even civilians who are interested to fight and kill, my order is dead or alive,” he said.

This is the order of President Duterte for the immediate capture of the hunted bandits who are believed to have escaped from the security operations of the military and police troops on April 11 in Inabanga, Bohol.

The President made the statement in a security briefing for the Asean Summit in Tagbilaran, Bohol on Wednesday.

“Kaya ‘yung anim na maybe scouring the safety nets kung saan sila maka-landing, I have a one million offer per person ako. Tip lang ibigay mo sa pulis pati military, no questions asked, do not even give your name, sabi mo lang kung saan sila at gobyerno na ang bahala,” President Duterte said.

(So the six who are maybe scouring the safety nets, where they are landing. I have a P1 million offer per person. Just a tip, give it to the police or the military, no questions asked. Do not even give your name. Just tell their whereabouts and the government will take over.)

President Duterte also wants every civilian to have firearms.

The Chief Executive believes that through this, the bandit group will be seized and prevent their influence to further.

“Intend also to arm the civilians and I will include the civilians. ‘Pag nakapatay ka, you don’t have to worry. You just go to the police and make the report and state your truth. Wala kang problema, I’ll take care of you. I’ll pardon you or whatever,” President Duterte added.

President Duterte assured the safety of the citizens in Bohol despite the encounter in the town of Inabanga.

The President said if the problem on terrorism worsens, he does not have any other option but to raid Jolo where the ASG is believed to have taken a stronghold.

“Because pagka ganon I will maybe invade Jolo. Invasion na lang talaga. But maraming ma-disgrasya diyan civilians, bata… But ‘pag naipit na ang bayan, I will order the invasion of Jolo. Lahat ng Army, lahat ng Navy magpunta doon. Iyan bakbakan na talaga iyan. Kung iyan ang gusto nila, ibibigay ko,” President Duterte stated.

(If that is the case, I will, maybe, invade Jolo. Invasion. But many will get affected. Civilians, children. I will oder invasion of Jolo. The entire army. The entire Navy. There will be battles. If that’s what they wanted, I will give them that.)

On April 11, an encounter erupted between the armed group and the joint forces of police and military in the town of Inabanga, Bohol.
