East Ventures launches new initiative to help improve Indonesia’s public service
The venture capital firm brings Code4Nation’s Pandu Putra to the Board to lead the project, named Creating Shared Value
Leading VC firm East Ventures has launched an initiative called Creating Shared Value (CSV) to help the government improve the public service in Indonesia.
The VC firm has appointed tech community Code4Nation’s Pandu Putra as Associate of Civic Project, who will lead the initiative. Putra was previously actively involved with Code4Nation’s activities and projects such as Code for Bandung, which developed digital projects for West Java capital’s Smart City initiatives.
“There’ a clear gap between tech startups and the public sector when it comes to the technology and practices,” said Willson Cuaca, Managing Director of East Ventures, as reported by DailySocial.
Cuaca added that the project is a long-term initiative and that the VC firm will not be taking profits from it.
CSV is looking to support programmes such as Kawal Pemilu. Founded by Ainun Najib, Kawal Pemilu is a website that can monitor the transparency of Indonesia’s general elections by scanning and publishing tabulation results.

CSV will work closely with government institutions to implement the project. Putra said he will start liaising with various ministries to discuss the social and economical impacts of upcoming projects.
“The end goal is to strategically improve government’s efficiency and how public service is being conducted, by building partnership between government and developer communities,”Putra said.
