EC says no clue on Sabah snap polls rumour, ready for any eventualities


LUNDU: The Election Commission (EC) is ready to face any elections especially in the wake of rumours suggesting a snap polls in Sabah this year.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Hashim Abdullah, however, stressed that the EC did not received any indication if the rumours were legit or otherwise.

"Tiada bayangan (There is no indication). There is not even sighting of the "anak bulan" (New Moon).

"Since we are tasked at handling the elections, the EC is always ready to face any eventualities.

"We have conducted drills and election simulations not only in Sabah but also other states in the country," he said after attending a luncheon with election workers involved in the Tanjong Datu state seat by-election here today.
