Ed Oxenbould joins Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan in 'Wildlife'

Ed Oxenbould is joining Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan in "Wildlife," the directorial debut from Paul Dano, reports Variety.

Based on the novel by Richard Ford novel, "Wildlife" tells the story of a boy who witnesses his parents' marriage falling apart after his mother finds another man.

Oxenbould will play the son of troubled couple Gyllenhaal and Mulligan.

The script was co-written by Dano, known for his acting roles in "Little Miss Sunshine" and "12 Years A Slave," and one of the film's executive producers Zoe Kazan.

Oxenbould has previously starred opposite Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner in Disney's "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" and played a starring role in M. Night Shyamalan's "The Visit." He was most recently seen in "Paper Planes" alongside Sam Worthington.
