Arsenal made it three wins from three games for the season as they booked their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 win at Leicester.

Eddie Nketiah took his tally to two goals in as many matches with a 90th-minute strike after Christian Fuchs' own goal had put the Gunners ahead.

Mikel Arteta’s side will now face the winner of Lincoln City vs Liverpool in the fourth round.

A slow first half saw Reiss Nelson go close with two efforts after cutting in from the right, while, in a rare burst of pressure from Leicester, James Maddison struck a post after gliding past the Arsenal defence and shaping a shot around Bernd Leno.

The Gunners piled on the pressure after the break and should have gone ahead when Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward gifted the ball to Joe Willock with the goal at his mercy.

The Gunners midfielder could not take advantage though, his touch allowing Wes Morgan to nip in and remove the danger.

Minutes later and the visitors had the breakthrough they deserved.

Nicolas Pepe drove in down the right and saw his first shot saved by Ward, only for the ball to fall back to his feet. The winger shot again from close range, with the ball clipping the post before finding the back of the net off Fuchs.

Nketiah had been rather starved of service throughout but was unfortunate not to put the game beyond Leicester when he showed a wonderful touch to lob Ward, only for Morgan to race back and head off the line.

Brendan Rodgers sent on Ayoze Perez to find a way back into the game and the former Newcastle man should have had Leicester level when, after Willian gave away a free-kick on the edge of the area, he managed to head just wide when it appeared easier to score.

With Leicester pushing for a leveller, Arteta sent on Hector Bellerin to shore things up, only for the full-back to deliver in the final third, skipping past the home defence and teeing up Nketiah to bundle home in the 90th minute.
