Eduardo Saverin and The Social Network: Who’s doing better?

by Nicholas Yong

Facebook co-founder Andrew Garfield Eduardo Saverin is getting married! Saverin is reportedly getting hitched to Indonesian beauty Elaine Andriejanssen.

His celluoid counterpart isn’t doing so well, though. Garfield, who played Saverin in The Social Network, has been dumped as Spider-Man. And he broke up with Emma Stone too. #sobs

Bet that stings.

But how are the rest of the Facebook co-founders and The Social Network stars doing now?

Mark Zuckerberg/Jesse Eisenberg

It seems fitting that Eisenberg is playing Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

After all, Zuckerberg has also taken on supervillain qualities, what with Facebook forcing businesses to pay for ads and becoming the main gatekeeper for news and media outlets.

But in any case, Zuckerberg is happily married to college sweetheart Priscilla Chan, a medical doctor. Eisenberg is also reportedly dating Australian actress Mia Wasikowska.

Oh, and Zuckerberg is now worth US$36 billion, according to Forbes.

Sean Parker/Justin Timberlake

Parker got a pretty bad rap in the movie, portrayed by Timberlake as a conniving, unreliable douchebag.

In real life, Parker got a lot of flak for his lavish, Lord of the Rings-themed wedding with singer Alexandra Lenas in 2013. The ceremony in Big Sur, California reportedly caused extensive environmental damage to the surrounding forest.

Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake is married to actress Jessica Biel, and continues to pursue a highly successful acting and music career.

Dustin Moskovitz/Joseph Mazzello

At 30, Dustin Moskovitz is the second-youngest billionaire in America, with an estimated net work of US$8 billion. He left Facebook in 2008 to start web and mobile app company Asana.

Moskovitz and his wife Cari Tuna are planning to give most of their fortune away to charity. They’ve already dispensed at least US$45 million in grants.

Meanwhile, Mazzello hasn’t done very much since The Social Network. He’ll next be seen in Undrafted, which he also directed.

Armie Hammer/The Winklevosses

It took an extraordinary performance to portray a pair of rich, white, privileged, former Olympian twins who claim that Zuckerberg stole their original idea for Facebook.

And Armie Hammer pulled it off magnificently. He’ll next be seen in The Man From UNCLE, alongside Henry Cavill. He’s also married to television personality Elizabeth Chambers.

As for Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, they’re STILL persevering in their lawsuit against Zuckerberg. They’ve also invested heavily in Bitcoin.

Oh, and they’re known online as The Winklevii.
