In the FISTS OF FURY series finale, a ONE World Champion retained his belt and another took a giant step toward two-sport gold.
In the main event of ONE: FISTS OF FURY III, which aired from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday, 19 March, ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion “The Immortal” Regian Eersel scored a hard-fought unanimous decision win over Mustapha “Dynamite” Haida.
Eersel’s punches and jumping knees helped him get past the grit and determination of Haida, who looked to tear into the titleholder’s body with winding hooks.
“The Immortal” wouldn’t be slowed down, however, and pelted the challenger from the first to the fifth round en route to the victory.
In the co-main event, ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion Janet “JT” Todd returned to Muay Thai and defeated #4-ranked contender Alma Juniku.
The highlight of the match came at the end of the second round when Todd dropped her opponent with a stiff right hand.
Juniku fought valiantly, but the Japanese-American’s crafty boxing couldn’t be denied as she picked up the unanimous decision win.
Todd also came into this fight as the #2-ranked atomweight Muay Thai contender, and she could very well become the first woman to challenge ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
