KUALA LUMPUR: The charred remains of a man, believed to be in his 60s, were found in a three-storey shop lot that caught fire in Lorong Haji Taib 2 at about 6am today.
City Fire and Rescue Department director Khiruddin Drahman said the remains of the victim were found in a room on the second floor.
“We are in the process of ascertaining his identity. The cause and losses are still under investigation,” he said in a statement here.
He said the department was alerted at 6.30am and that the blaze was brought under control within 30 minutes. -- BERNAMA © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
