Electricity tariffs to fall by average 3.3% in October-December: SP Group
SINGAPORE — Electricity tariffs will fall by an average 3.3 per cent, or 0.79 cent per kWh, before GST in the October to December period compared with the second quarter due mainly to lower cost of natural gas for electricity generation, SP Group said in a statement on Monday (30 September).
The tariff for households will decrease from 24.22 to 23.43 cents per kWh before GST in the third quarter. In the July to September period, the tariff increased by an average 6.4 per cent, or 1.43 cents per kWh.
With the new tariffs, the average monthly bill for HDB units in the third quarter will range from $31.15 for an HDB 1-room flat to $120.52 for an HDB executive unit. For private houses, the average monthly bill will range from $123.04 for an apartment to $495.33 for a bungalow.
